Synopsis:

The film is based on a true story following the composer Vivaldi as a young priest in the early 1700s, as he battled the church and his own personal demons to transform a school of orphaned girls into an orchestra that played Europe's greatest concert halls and, ultimately, for the pope.

Elle has a very substantial role in the film -- one of the starring roles, in fact.

She plays Cristina, one of many orphans who found themselves in the care of the Ospedale de la Pieta in Venice in the early 1700s.

Like many of the orphans at the Ospedale de la Pieta (Hospital of Pity) she bears the emotional scars of events that occurred earlier in her childhood.

Cristina is a mute who struggles tremendously with her abandonment.

During the course of the film she develops a very special relationship with Antonio Vivaldi, a young priest, who has been sent to the Ospedale to be its musical director.

Vivaldi through patience, love and understanding for the girls -- and his own musical genius -- wins Cristina's trust and helps her regain her magnificent voice.

The main theme of the story is how Vivaldi creates an orchestra made up of the young orphans which rises from obscurity to gain international renown on the world stage.

News of this astonishing group of girls and their young priest travels fast.

The "angeli," a word Vivaldi loves to use in describing the girls, become so famous that they are ultimately invited to perform a concert for the Pope during which Cristina sings a beautiful aria.

Cristina's journey is one of discovery and self-belief during which she lifts the veil that has long hidden the truth about herself and the extraordinary revelations about her roots.

Vivaldi, the film, is a document of the times and is based on a true story. It will uplift and inspire audiences around the world.
